Shall We Read a Book? Recreational reading for children

The Cuatrogatos Foundation is proud to have signed a collaboration agreement with Le Jardin Community Center, a prestigious non-profit educational organization dedicated to early learning, with ten locations in the city of Homestead, Miami-Dade County, at the end of 2022. As a result of this agreement, we conduct monthly book reading and storytelling activities in their classrooms and gardens.

A significant portion of the children under five years old that Le Jardin serves come from low-income families, many of whom are Latino immigrants working in agricultural crops in the area. Through this working relationship, our foundation has developed various activities related to children's literature and reading during the early months of 2023 to enrich the educational and cultural environment for children and foster their interest in books from an early age.

Le Jardin places great importance on introducing children to books and literature. The Cuatrogatos Foundation shares this vision, which is why there is a mutual interest in exposing young children to stories and poems, enabling them to acquire language skills, refine their artistic sensitivity, develop their imagination and creativity, and expand their knowledge of the world around them.

The collaboration between the Cuatrogatos Foundation and Le Jardin has provided these children with access to a wide variety of high-quality books during each encounter. Cuatrogatos, with its expertise in evaluating and selecting children's literature, has significantly contributed to enriching the literary repertoire of Le Jardin's children and has made donations to their library collection.
