Cuatrogatos Foundation Award 2019: The 20 Winning Books
To choose the winning books of the 2020 Cuatrogatos Foundation Award, a committee of readers took into consideration around 1,500 publications for children and young people from 171 publishers in 20 countries. The graphic image that identifies the award this year was created by the prominent Argentine illustrator Diego Bianki.
Among the 20 winning books there are album books, poems, stories and novels published by publishers of Argentina (Quipu), Chile (Beascoa, Ediciones Liebre), Colombia (Tragaluz editores), Spain (Anaya, Apila Ediciones, Destino, Ediciones Ekaré, Ediciones SM, Editorial Juventud, Kalandraka Editora, Lóguez Ediciones, Tres Tigres Tristes), Mexico (Ediciones Castillo, Ediciones Tecolote Editions, Editorial Norma, Fondo de Cultura Económica), Nicaragua (Libros para Niños) and Uruguay (¡Más pimienta!). Four of these publishing houses had not previously received the Cuatrogatos Foundation Award.
As usual, in addition to awarding the 20 awards and highlighting 12 finalist books, we spread a selection with 100 titles recommended for their literary and plastic values.
