
6th Seminar on Children's Literature and Reading
On November 23, 2019, the Seminar on Children's Literature and Reading will be held for the sixth consecutive year as part of the Miami Book Fair. This event, organized by the Cuatrogatos Foundation and the Miami Book Fair Ibero-American Authors Program, is aimed at parents, teachers, librarians, writers, illustrators, editors and all those interested in books for children and youth and the training of readers. On this occasion the seminar will focus on Children: Hope of the World.
The inaugural conference, entitled The Voice of Literature, will be held at 10:00 a.m. by the writer, teacher and oral narrator Ernesto Rodríguez Abad (Spain).
The following panels will be presented below:
11:00 am. - 12:30 p.m .: Books, Reading and Us, with the authors Mónica Rodríguez (Spain), Roxana Méndez (El Salvador) and John Fitzgerald Torres (Colombia). Coordinator: Fanuel Hanán Díaz (Venezuela).
1:30 p.m. - 3:10 p.m .: Children, Literature and Future, with the authors Menena Cottin (Venezuela), Legna Rodríguez Iglesias (Cuba) and David Unger (Guatemala). Coordinator: María Cueto (Cuba-United States).
3:10 p.m. - 4:10 p.m .: Write for the New Generations. The writer Juan Villoro (Mexico) in conversation with Antonio Orlando Rodríguez (Cuba-United States).
4:10 p.m. - 5:30 pm: Why and For What Books for Children and Young People, with the writer and editor Socorro Venegas (Mexico), the illustrator Ramón Paris (Venezuela), the writer Ánjel Lertxundi (Spain) and the writer and literary researcher Fanuel Hanán Díaz (Venezuela). Coordinator: Sergio Andricaín (Cuba-United States).
The seminar is supported by the SM Foundation, the Norma Editorial Group, Ekaré Editions, Canarias Crea, the Etxepare Cultural Institute, Cinco Books, Francisco Alwood and the Department of Bilingual Education of the Miami Dade Public Schools.

The 6th Seminar on Children's Literature and Reading will be held at the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College, Room 7106 (Building 7, first floor), 300 NE Second Ave., Dowtown Miami.
Admission is free and no prior registration is required to participate.
